Dear Chabad of Nova Congregant,

As the holiday of Pesach arrives, please follow the instructions below to ensure that you fulfill the beautiful mitzvos of Pesach.

Ma’ot Chitim: “The Wheat Fund.” This is a special Pesach fund meant for distributing matzah to poor people. This fund also provides food, wine, and other festive items to the poor. Ma’ot Chitim can be given a month before Pesach up until the holiday begins. Please help others celebrate this joyous holiday by making a donation to Chabad of Nova and earmarking it Ma’ot Chitim.

Shmurah Matzah Order: Shmurah matzah is very special since it is watched and guarded from the moment it is harvested. Order your special Shmurah matzah from Rabbi Posner for your Pesach table.

Sell Chametz: It is prohibited to possess chametz on Passover; any left over, must be sold to a non-Jew. Everything that is used for food throughout the year should be cleaned thoroughly and koshered if possible (i.e. stove, oven, sink, etc.) Cooking utensils that were not thoroughly cleaned should be stored away. The storage area should be locked or taped shut for the duration of the holiday. Since there are many legal intricacies involved in this sale, Rabbi Posner will sell the chametz to a non-Jew on the morning before Passover and also buy it back the evening after Passover ends. Please complete the form below which will guide you in the proper procedures for selling your chametz.

Thank you,

Rabbi Shmuel Posner
